The Students in Health and Medical Research Conference (SHMRC) is an evening research symposium for students of the UWA Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences. In 2010, the SHMRC will be held on September 15th from 6pm at the University Club (UWA).
The event brings together clinicians, student researchers and the WA health community for presentation and recognition of the fantastic research being performed by these students.
By submitting an abstract, the SHMRC represents a fantastic opportunity for students potentially present their work at a professional level, and to be recognized for their achievements. Additionally, students presenting at the symposium have the opportunity to win cash prizes. From the abstracts submitted, 9 students will be selected to give an oral presentation at the symposium. Any students not selected to give an oral presentation are invited to present a Poster submission at either the Conference, or via the Online Poster Competition.
Who can submit an abstract?
Anyone who has completed any research whilst a student of the UWA Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences is eligible to submit. This includes 4th year research projects, BMedSc(Hons), vacation research projects, and any other work done. Just complete the attached form, and submit it to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it by Friday, July 30th 2010!

Please fill in the attached submissions form. Abstracts will be limited to 200 words maximum, and must include an Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussions section. For those students who may not yet have all results available, we will be willing to accept a modified abstract with additional detail in the Methods section.
