Positions open for AMSA Rep, Interhealth chair/s, SPAMH chair/s and SHMRC Convenor.

AMSA and AMSA Junior Rep

Being an AMSA Rep involves:

  1. Attending and representing WAMSS at the three AMSA councils during the year
  2. Being the main liaison between AMSA and WAMSS
  3. Managing the WAMSS AMSA ThinkTank, which is involved in developing policy for AMSA
  4. Having an intimate knowledge of WAMSS’ policy, internal workings, and its committee

Interhealth Chair/Co-Chair

Only current WAMSS members who have previously served on the Interhealth Committee or an Interhealth sub-committee are eligible to apply for the Chair position

The roles and responsibilities of the Chair include;

  • Manage the day to day affairs of Interhealth.
  • Selection of the remaining Interhealth Committee, in conjunction with the WAMSS President
  • Facilitate other committee members in the performance of their duties.
  • Provide a link between the Interhealth Committee and the WAMSS Committee
  • Represent Interhealth to external organisations when required.
  • Provide long term guidance and direction to Interhealth.

SPAMH Chair/Co-Chair

Open to all WAMSS and SPAMH members. Applicants must have attended at least 4 SPAMH meetings in the last 24 months.

The roles and responsibilities of the Chair include:

  • Manage the day to day affairs of SPAMH.
  • Lead discussion at SPAMH meetings.
  • Facilitate other Committee members in the performance of their duties.
  • Provide a link between the SPAMH Committee and the WAMSS Committee.
  • Represent SPAMH to external organisations when required.
  • Provide long term guidance and direction to SPAMH.
  • Remain as available as can reasonably be expected to provide guidance to their successor for at least one year after the conclusion of their term.

SHMRC Convenor

Organises the annual Students in Health and Medical Research Conference, an evening conference for students to present their research. SHMRC takes place in the latter half of the year.
