WAMSS Academic Events Flagship Events

Our mOSCE events are always highly anticipated to help students prepare for clinical practice and their final exams.

MD4 mOSCE

The MD4 Mock OSCE is the flagship event for WAMSS Academic Events, which recruits the help of junior doctors and faculty staff in creating and examining high-yield OSCE stations for the final year cohort.

Disciplines included are Internal Medicine, Surgery, Anaesthetics, Oncology, Palliative Care, Emergency Medicine, Rural General Practice, and Aboriginal Health.

MD3 mOSCE

OSCEs are often daunting and dreaded amongst medical students. We host a mock-OSCE for the 3rd years to provide insight and alleviate apprehension before their first official OSCE.

Disciplines included are Internal Medicine, Orthopaedics, Urology, Ophthalmology, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and General Practice.

MD2 Preparation for Clinical Practice

Transition to learning in the clinical environment is a substantial leap during medical school.

WAMSS Academic Events are proud to host an annual session which prepares second year students for clinical practice, which includes workshops on a guide to the wards, documentation, tips and tricks for rotations, and clinical reasoning.

Emergency Medicine Challenge (EMC)

EMC is an interactive team-based competition which pits students against each other in a series of scenarios related to critical care medicine.

Teams are graded based on their performance with the winning team receiving a prize for their efforts.
